Why do financial advisers ask so many personal questions these days? I don’t like people poking into my affairs - why do they have to do it?

This is not only common sense, it is a regulatory requirement; here he or she cannot offer advice without your personal details. If your adviser knows nothing about you, your financial situation and in particular your financial aims and goals, he or she would find it very difficult to help you achieve these goals.

The more information your adviser has, and it must be up to date, the easier it will be to advise on products and to help you organise your financial priorities, and to distinguish between wants and your NEEDS.
